    Beautiful ambient record
  3. Clientele is basically the only thing I've been listening to lately. Not much else has connected. Saw them on Halloween and it was a lovely show, they played a surprising amount of older stuff, maybe because they're a 3 piece and those songs work better. They opened with Since K Got Over Me and it was fuckin nuts how full it sounded. The Neighbour (which has recently turned into a favourite from Age of Miracles) fell a bit flat without the backing melodies. Everyone You Meet and Age of Miracles were lovely. I recommend catching them if you can - a bit silly to say but it was cool seeing a band just play and not hide behind any gimmicks or insane distortion. Also Spotify has a lot of music by them I've never heard so I've gotten to take a deep dive into b sides. Such a consistent bad. The alternate version of Porcelain on the Suburban Light reissue is rad.

Suburban Light and The Violet Hour are hazy, lofi records that have an alien mystery about them. Strange Geometry is a jump into cleaner production and more conventionally structured pop songs. The records that followed continue in that direction I suppose. Personally I'd recommend Strange Geometry but there isn't a clear consensus on their best record... Some people hate some and love others. So start from the beginning with Suburban Light?? Strange Geometry has a very specific atmosphere to me, for some reason I always associate it with Murakami books, especially Sputnik Sweetheart (the references to a "K" made me wonder if it was specifically referencing that book). It feels twilit, surreal and romantic without being overly sentimental (the two records after suffered from that). New one is much more restrained on that front, I'm super happy with it.

Suburban Light is great but the shift into uptempo songs on Bonfires never did it for me (Harvest Time is one of their best songs tho). I think I should return to it and give it another try.

From my first listen it's such a consistent album. Reminds me a lot of Strange Geometry. Much better than Bonfires (barely listened to that one now that I think of it) and seems stronger than God Save the Clientele. That record has a few incredible songs but a few duds too bought tickets to their Toronto show, very excited.

Thanks! Lots of fun working on these, tend to put a lot of pressure on myself when I put stuff out there, it's a relief to have an off the cuff outlet. Here are some pups

Got more out of this on first listen than any of their previous records. Strangest Thing guitar solos fuck me up. Makes me wanna smash beers in the outer reaches of a parking lot with nascar fans and whoop at an American flag
