World Cup 2014/2018

actually curious to see how brazil as a country react if they don't win, considering all the ill will toward FIFA etc pre tournament. could be very interesting. of course after that first match it seems the fix is on.

Just seems like classic awful officiating

I get that that second disallowed goal was maybe offsides, but seeing how it went off a Cameroon defender, isn't the offisides moot and the goal allowed?

Sorry. I'm American.

:(

It depends on where the attacking player was when the ball was played in to him by a team mate, so the deflection from an opposing player wouldn't change the call.

Mexico should be winning by 3 or 4

Both sides of my family moved from the basque region to Cuba 3 generations ago. I think it's ok for me to root for Spain. :)

Anyway, amazing Netherlands goal. Insane.

I think American soccer fans are great. It makes sense that the sport is catching on since so many yanks played in their youth. I played all the time until I messed up my knee in high school.

What gets me is the cultural appropriation of British soccer fans: getting snobby and calling it "fütbàl" and prattling on using words like "pitch" instead of "field". And then there is the getting drunk at 9 a.m. to watch Arsenal and being a hooligan in your stupid suburb and wasting a perfectly good Saturday.

Holland answered quick. Looked like a handball at first blush.
