great internet comments about music

I actually would like to see a "new Pitchfork" in the above sense.  Miley, Taylor, and co. have enough press.  I also note that I don't agree with Pitchfork's BNM picks nearly as often as I did ten years ago, though I guess that's just down to a shift in taste/brand.

Yeah that comment isn't totally wrong. I'm not going to moan and groan about selling out but in all honesty why is Pitchfork covering pop acts? They're not good at it, their attempts to intellectualize pop music is always embarrassing, and hector is otm - they don't need the coverage

but the thing is p4k still covers as much weird/udnerground music as ever, so im not sure what the folks with their panties in a bunch about increasing pop coverage actually want. is it so hard to ignore the pop coverage inf avor of the stuff they actually do want?

I wish there was something like The Dissolve for music, where current reviews weren't the end all, be all of the site, you felt like you knew the writers and they engaged in interesting articles and discussions.

Granted it didn't last and I think it's a lot easier to do with movies, they're easier to discuss in general, not as many genre hang-ups and no one will complain that a movie site is covering eg. the Avengers, which is a difference I don't quite get.

the quietus, kinda? seems they strike a good balance of covering enough new stuff to stay relevant while still devoting plenty of space to pieces about older albums/personal stuff

also id be curious what % of pitchforks annual reviews are actually the pop acts people whine about them covering. seems to me the majority of their pop coverage is confined within short news blurbs and track reviews, while their best writers continue to write longer reviews and interesting genre columns about more udnerground stuff. so again, idk what peoples beef is.

one of the things i like about the quietus is their refusal to assign number scores in their reviews. forces me to actually read them, whereas with the 4k i can check the number, skim the review and get the gist. the numberless thing makes the actual writing shine a bit more, and avoids those awkward p4k moments where the reviewer and the editorial board clearly disagreed on an albums worthiness

This is a experimental album to see how far the illuminati  could subvert the culture of the indigenous. None of the people involved in making this album went anywhere near LSD , they were highly trained musicians and technicians although delia derbyshire was an alcoholic and died at 60 ,she made the dr who music. The sound fanology is meant to be disturbing  and penetrate the human psyche  leaving  the listener feel depressed and hopeless . The album also haves satanic and alien interference themes ."I see you" .......Of cause it don't work on us because were more awake than most and i quite enjoy the craftsmanship in the music as long as i know its trying to subvert my mind i can defend myself although i wouldnt listen to it very often just to be safe.

Obviously whoever runs this "Rolling Stone" page is a democrat/liberal with all the Donald Trump bashing I see on it on a daily basis..why don't you stick to just posting about things relevant to your magazine, i.e. MUSIC..we see enough of this political crap everywhere else! I will be hitting the "unlike" button for this page!

Spin and Rolling Stones lists are BS. If certain artists release albums they automatically make these lists, maybe payola or maybe they sell copies. If it was a true best of for 2015 than it would include Faith No More's Sol Invictus and Iron Maiden's Book of Souls

theres something so beautiful about citing those particular albums here
