I actually quite enjoyed this. But I think that was more down to the strength of a really good story than particularly excellent film making. Perfectly pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon though.

This was great. I may have had something in my eye at one point or another.

Watched The Room with a bunch of friends (and a lot of wine) over the weekend. It was just as bad as advertised. Worse, actually. It was bad in ways that I did not know it was possible for a film to be bad.

Had a great time watching it.

THE FLORIDA PROJECT

Quite liked it.  The kids were great. This Baker dude makes some really good movies.

I love Sean Baker... I only have like four DVD's I refuse to get rid of and one of them is his movie Starlet... Something about a stoner porn star's weird relationship with an older woman just touches my soul.

Last night I watched the new Safdie film "Good Time" and I enjoyed it a lot!

Spoiler

Second time seeing this. I'm still really pissed Segel didn't get the recognition he deserved for playing DFW. He was so damn good! Eisenberg is Eisenberg.  Love the arc of this film as it goes from cautious friendship to sudden enemies to legit friends with a strong bond that would last their lifetimes.

ive been very sporadic in my reading habits since my nonstop reading as a young child. some books take me years but wuthering heights was a fast one during a voracious interval... exactly one year ago :o

hated Wuthering Heights

To be fair I had to read it for an English class, wonder if I'd find it any less turgid now.

i have a few of those that everyone says are great but i hated in english class, though certain other books i had to read for english i ended up liking so who knows

i was kind of unsure how much i liked it as i was reading it but i guess in the end i decided i liked it pretty well. i can't say i really relate to anyone in it though

My favorite thing about Wuthering Heights was a story a friend told me about her weird English Lit professor doing a whole lecture where she seemed really excited about a perceived subtext of Heathcliff digging up Catherine and fucking the body.

I really loved To the Lighthouse, that and Things Fall Apart were the only two we read in that class that I really enjoyed.

I didn't go to college, but I had an AP English class my senior year of high school and the teacher was good. When everyone in the class agreed that Wuthering Heights was terrible and a few people didn't even finish it, she agreed to pretend like the assignment never happened and move on to the next book

The Big Sick because it was just, right there on Amazon.

idk like 6/10? it was only ok? kumail was great in it, holly hunter was great, ray romano fucking rules, but idk??? just felt like a long episode of a pretty good sitcom. not mad I watched it but the insanely universal acclaim I've seen is sorta perplexing.

Wuthering Heights is fucking incredible. It sets a mood like nothing else. However, it's definitely not something that you should be forced to read in english 101.

It's best to approach it on your own time when you don't have some miserable professor picking it apart for you.

occasionally visually arresting, spectacularly so, but I was kinda disappointed. Too many plot points were convenient and why the fuck was one of the leads dubbed throughout the movie and worse still, why were there subs for the bits in English??

Remarkable story, unremarkable film

Image result for darling 2015

it was.. ok

I enjoyed chunks of it, but overall it felt too surface level and steeped in homage to be a real stand alone film. There were also a few horror filming techniques I don't enjoy that I felt were overused: flashing SPOOKY images, having the main character stare at the camera to indicate... something

overall it felt like a precursor to a better film

I watched White God last week. I kept saying to my friend "that's the tune from one of the best Tom and Jerrys" and then in one scene all the dogs were watching it on the telly and I said "see!"

I watched the original Jumanji movie last night  I wore that movie out back in the day

other than some badly dated cgi, its seriously fucked up for a kids movie! kirsten dunst's character literally dies from poisoning while begging for her dead parents, ffs. surprised my parents let me watch it when i was a kid

honestly the fucked up cgi and old school mannequin-esque models make it even creepier, uncanny valley style

cant forget the part where the lady is bitten by one of the giant mosquitoes in it shows her twitching and catatonic!
