Pimping threads are dumb and redundant.

Just pimp in the list thread.

Ideally with your list.

And, you can always edit your list if you hear something you like better later.

You just like to complain.

F   I   N   A   L (with my shitty takes for the top 10) F   I   N   A   L

25. St. Vincent - Masseduction

24. Sampha - Process

23. Waxahatchee - Out in the Storm

22. Björk - Utopia

21. John Maus - Screen Memories

20. Lorde - Melodrama

19. Paramore - After Laughter

18. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

17. Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger in the Alps

16. Spoon - Hot Thoughts .

15. Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me

14. Litku Klemetti - Juna Kainuuseen

13. Sylvan Esso - What Now

12. Lil B - Black Ken

11. Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up

10. Toro y Moi - Boo Boo

Thematically, the album is a hazy trip through a rise to fame and the downsides of newfound celebrity--mainly losing the love of his life. Certainly, there isn’t new ground broken lyrically. Yet, presented against a floaty soundscape, it hits a sweet spot.

9. Timber Timbre - Sincerely, Future Pollution

Though I’m unsure of the motivations behind the change of sound from Timber Timbre on this record, I am quite pleased with it. Starting as simply a folk band, each subsequent release seems to further embrace a blues, rock & roll, and dance influence. On this one, they seem to have completely abandoned their original sound and instead have produced an 80’s inspired arty synthpop album. Not only is it an interesting and curious new direction, but it is wildly enjoyable as well. At times I feel like they are channeling some of the more challenging parts of David Bowie’s career, and it’s fantastic.

8. Big K.R.I.T. - 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time

4eva is a Mighty Long Time is the best thing from Big K.R.I.T. since 2012. Missed you bud.

7. Rose Elinor Dougall - Stellular

This album is littered with amazing hooks.

6. SZA - CTRL

SZA builds on the efforts of Frank Ocean, Tinashe, and Kehlani, and makes it look easy as she presents this R&B classic. The production on this is massive, and is complemented by sharp and precise lyricism.

5. Girlpool - Powerplant

This album grew on me throughout the year. The band added a drummer this time around to give a little more structure and power to their sound. Sure, they’ve lost some of their rough qualities but somehow did so without losing any of their charm.

4. Big Thief - Capacity

Have you read the background on this lady, what a history. To have such a passionate and fragile album sprout from such a tumultuous beginning is certainly impressive.

3. Mac DeMarco - This Old Dog

With This Old Dog he is keeping the same ‘trademark’ sound from his last few albums but giving some more thought to the lyrics. Love the synthesizer accents. This is his best release to date, even if it may at times not distance itself too much from his past releases.

2. Kelela - Take Me Apart

Very slick album, both vocally and with it's production. Kelela isn't embarrassed to bear all for the listeners enjoyment.

1. Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory

This album is littered with adrenaline filled production coupled with punchy lyricism. Though I could see this album drawing comparisons to Yeezus, this album doesn't fall flat or lose its energy at any point. Staples builds up a great atmosphere and just has fun playing around in the world it has created. How about that Occupy Wall-street banger at the end of the album?
